1. चीन में शंघाई सहयोग संगठन पर्यटन मंत्रियों का सम्मेलन

पर्यटन राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स राज्य मंत्री और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी, श्री के.जे. Alphons वुहान में शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (एससीओ) के द्वारा पर्यटन मंत्रियों के सम्मेलन में भाग लिया, चीन 9 को आयोजित वें मई 2018।

• उद्घाटन सत्र में, मंत्री ने कहा कि भारत का पर्यटन क्षेत्र तेजी से बढ़ रहा है और एससीओ क्षेत्र के साथ पर्यटन सहयोग के लिए एक उभरती हुई बाजार और उभरती हुई बाजार के लिए उभरती हुई बाजार है।

2. कोविंद 14 साल में सियाचिन जाने के लिए पहले राष्ट्रपति बने

भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री राम नाथ कोविंद ने 10 मई, 2018 को सियाचिन बेस शिविर का दौरा किया और वहां तैनात सैनिकों को संबोधित किया।

• उन्होंने कुमार पोस्ट का भी दौरा किया। सियाचिन जाने के लिए राष्ट्रपति कोविंद भारत के दूसरे राष्ट्रपति हैं।
• पिछली यात्रा अप्रैल 2004 में राष्ट्रपति एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम ने की थी।
• यह राष्ट्रपति कोविंद को 14 साल में सियाचिन यात्रा करने वाले पहले राष्ट्रपति बनाता है।

3. मध्य प्रदेश भारत के पहले स्मार्ट शहरों नियंत्रण केंद्र प्राप्त करता है

केंद्र के स्मार्ट सिटी मिशन (एससीएम) को समझने की दिशा में एक प्रमुख कदम में, मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने भोपाल में राज्य के सभी सात स्मार्ट शहरों के लिए देश का पहला एकीकृत नियंत्रण और कमांड सेंटर (आईसीसीसी) लॉन्च किया है।

• आईसीसीसी अधिकारियों को वास्तविक समय में विभिन्न स्मार्ट सिविक सुविधाओं की स्थिति की निगरानी करने के लिए सक्षम सेंसर के माध्यम से सक्षम करने में सक्षम बनाता है।
• मध्यप्रदेश में एससीएम के तहत भोपाल, इंदौर, उज्जैन, ग्वालियर, जबलपुर, सतना और सागर सात स्मार्ट शहरों हैं।

4. केंद्रीय उड्डयन मंत्री केंद्रीय मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु ने 6 वें यूएस-भारत विमानन शिखर सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया

6 वें यूएस-इंडिया एविएशन शिखर सम्मेलन का औपचारिक रूप से केंद्रीय उड्डयन मंत्री, मुंबई में सुरेश प्रभु ने उद्घाटन किया था।

• द्विवार्षिक शिखर सम्मेलन संयुक्त रूप से नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्रालय और अमेरिकी व्यापार और विकास एजेंसी (यूएसटीडीए) द्वारा आयोजित किया जाता है।
• शिखर सम्मेलन भारतीय नागरिक मंत्रालय और अमेरिकी व्यापार और विकास एजेंसी द्वारा तकनीकी, नीति और वाणिज्यिक मंच है।

5. सीबीआई को धोखाधड़ी की रिपोर्ट करने के लिए सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों के लिए नई मौद्रिक सीमाएं

केन्द्रीय सतर्कता आयोग (सीवीसी) के अनुसार, सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों के लिए जांच के लिए सीबीआई के विभिन्न विभागों को धोखाधड़ी की रिपोर्ट करने के लिए मौद्रिक सीमा संशोधित की गई है।

• 15 करोड़ रुपये से कम से कम 3 करोड़ रुपये से 25 करोड़ रुपये की धोखाधड़ी, सीबीआई की भ्रष्टाचार शाखा (यदि कर्मचारियों की भागीदारी पहले स्पष्ट स्पष्ट है) या आर्थिक अपराध विंग (यदि कर्मचारियों की भागीदारी है) सबसे पहले स्पष्ट नहीं) क्रमशः।
• सीबीआई की बैंकिंग सुरक्षा और धोखाधड़ी सेल (बीएसएफसी) को 25 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा और 50 करोड़ रुपये तक की धोखाधड़ी के मामले दिए जाने चाहिए।
• 50 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के मामलों को संयुक्त निदेशक (नीति), सीबीआई के साथ दर्ज किया जाना चाहिए।

6. महाथिर मोहम्मद मलेशिया के प्रधान मंत्री बने

महाथिर मोहम्मद को खड़े होने के 15 साल बाद सदमे की चुनाव जीत के बाद फिर से मलेशिया के प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली गई।

• दो दशकों से अधिक समय तक शासन करने वाले पूर्व मजबूत व्यक्ति, दुनिया के सबसे पुराने निर्वाचित नेता 92 में बने हैं।
• वह सेवानिवृत्ति से बाहर आए और विपक्षी दल को पूर्व संरक्षक नजीब रजाक को हराकर हराया।

7. मोहित चौहान सिक्किम के ग्रीन राजदूत के रूप में मनोनीत हुए

1. Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tourism Ministers’ conference in China

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri K. J. Alphons attended the Tourism Ministers’ conference by Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Wuhan, China held on 9th May 2018.

• At the inaugural session, the Minister said that India’s Tourism sector is fast growing and has got an emerging market for outbound travel and a tremendous potential for tourism co-operation with the SCO region.

2. Kovind becomes first President to visit Siachen in 14 years

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, visited Siachen Base Camp on May 10, 2018 and addressed the soldiers posted there.

• He also visited the Kumar Post. President Kovind is the second President of India to visit Siachen.
• The previous visit was undertaken by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in April 2004.
• This makes President Kovind the first President to travel to Siachen in 14 years.

3. Madhya Pradesh Gets India's First Smart Cities Control Centre

In a major step towards realising the centre's smart city mission (SCM), the Madhya Pradesh government has launched the country's first Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC) for all seven smart cities of the state in Bhopal.

• The ICCCwould enable the authorities to monitor the status of various smart civic amenities in real-time through the sensors connected to it.
• Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Satna, and Sagar are the seven smart cities under SCM in Madhya Pradesh.

4. Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu inaugurates 6th US-India Aviation Summit

The 6th US-India Aviation Summit was formally inaugurated by Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu in Mumbai.

• The biennial Summit is jointly organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation and US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
• The summit is a technical, policy and commercial forum by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation and the US Trade and Development Agency.

5. New monetary limits for public sector banks to report frauds to CBI

The monetary threshold for public sector banks to report frauds to different departments of the CBI for a probe has been revised, according to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

• Frauds of minimum Rs 3 crore to Rs 25 crore, up from Rs 15 crore, have to be reported to either the CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch (in case staff involvement is prima facie evident) or to the Economic Offences Wing (if employees involvement is prima facie not evident) respectively.
• Cases of frauds involving more than Rs 25 crore and up to Rs 50 crore should be given to the CBI's Banking Security and Fraud Cell (BSFC).
• The cases of more than Rs 50 crore should be lodged with the Joint Director (Policy), CBI.

6. Mahathir Mohamad becomes Prime Minister of Malaysia

Mahathir Mohamad has been sworn in as prime minister of Malaysia again after a shock election victory, 15 years after he stood down.

• The former strongman who governed for more than two decades has become, at 92, the world's oldest elected leader.
• He came out of retirement and defected to the opposition to take on and beat former protege Najib Razak.

7. Mohit Chauhan nominated as Green Ambassador of Sikkim

The Sikkim government has nominated Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan as the Green Ambassador of the state, an official notification said.

• The state government had earlier this year roped in AR Rahman as its ambassador to promote tourism in Sikkim.
• Sikkim is known for its rich biodiversity and abundant natural resources due to environment-friendly policies being followed by the state government for more than two decades.

8. Nirmal Singh elected JK Assembly speaker

BJP legislator and former deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh was elected as the speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

• Singh, who is an MLA from Billawar constituency in Jammu region, was elected as the speaker by a voice vote in a one day special session of the Assembly.
• The motion to elect Singh was moved by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basharat Bukhari and seconded by Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta.
• Singh defeated Congress MLA from Bandipora, Usman Majeed.

9. South Western Railway bags Safety Shield pertaining to Train Operations

During the year 2017-18, South Western Railway (SWR) has registered best figures & tremendous improvements in key areas of Safety pertaining to train operations among all Zonal Railways. Recognizing the efforts of SWR undertaken for improving Safety, Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways & Coal awarded the Railway Minister’s Safety Shield for 2017-18 to South Western Railway in an annual award event.

• The number of accidents has come down in SWR from 11 in 2014-15 to 8 in 2015-16, 3 in 2016-17 to 01 in 2017-18.

10. Former Test cricketer Rajinder Pal passes away

Former Delhi cricketer Rajinder Pal, who had represented the country in one Test match, passed away at his Dehradun residence.

• A right-arm medium pacer, Rajinder Pal played his only Test match against England (then known as MCC) during the 1963-64 series at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

4. कैबिनेट वरिष्ठ नागरिकों पीएमवीवीवाई के लिए निवेश सीमा को दोगुना करने की मंजूरी देता है

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में की अध्यक्षता में निवेश की सीमा रुपये से रुपये 15 लाख 7.5 लाख का विस्तार करने के साथ ही 4 से सदस्यता के लिए समय सीमा के विस्तार के लिए अपनी स्वीकृति प्रदान की है 

• इसके अलावा, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए सामाजिक सुरक्षा पहलों को बढ़ावा देने के रूप में, मौजूदा योजना में प्रति परिवार 7.5 लाख रुपये की निवेश सीमा संशोधित पीएमवीवीवाई में प्रति वरिष्ठ नागरिक 15 लाख रुपये तक बढ़ा दी गई है, जिससे बड़े सामाजिक सुरक्षा कवर को प्रदान किया जा सके। वरिष्ठ नागरिक।  
• यह वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए प्रति माह 10000 पेंशन तक सक्षम होगा।

• अंतर वापसी, यानी एलआईसी द्वारा उत्पन्न रिटर्न और प्रति वर्ष 8% की आश्वासित वापसी के बीच अंतर वार्षिक आधार पर भारत सरकार द्वारा सब्सिडी के रूप में लिया जाएगा।

5. मुंबई के बाद सबसे बड़ा हवाई अड्डा मोपा, गोवा में विकसित किया जाएगा

भारत के हवाई अड्डा प्राधिकरण (एएआई) और वाणिज्य रसद विभाग की एक संयुक्त टीम पर 7 गोवा का दौरा करेंगे वीं -8 वीं मई 2018 नई हवाई अड्डे पर कार्गो हब के विकास की सुविधा के लिए गोवा में मोपा का निर्माण किया जाना है।

• देश के पश्चिमी हिस्से, महाराष्ट्र, कर्नाटक, केरल और गोवा के चार तटीय राज्यों को मोपा में मुंबई के निर्माण के बाद सबसे बड़े हवाई अड्डे से काफी फायदा होगा।

6. पीएमएसएसवाई 12 वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना से परे अनुमोदित

प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 2017-18 से 201 9-20 की अवधि के लिए 12 वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना से परे प्रधान मंत्री स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा योजना (पीएमएसएसवाई) की निरंतरता के लिए अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है। 14,832 करोड़

• प्रधान मंत्री को उनके निरंतर समर्थन के लिए कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करते हुए, स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा ने कहा कि सरकार जानबूझकर देश में स्वास्थ्य बुनियादी ढांचे के साथ-साथ स्वास्थ्य जनशक्ति में सुधार के लिए काम कर रही है।

7. कैबिनेट छाता योजना 'हरित क्रांति की निरंतरता को मंजूरी देता है

प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में आर्थिक मामलों की कैबिनेट कमेटी ने 2017-18 से 201 9 तक की अवधि के लिए 12 वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना से परे कृषि क्षेत्र में "हरित क्रांति - कृष्णनाथि योजना" छतरी योजना के लिए अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है। 20 रुपये के केंद्रीय शेयर के साथ। 33,26 9.9 76 करोड़ रुपये

8. राधाकृष्णन नायर ने आईसीआईसीआई बैंक के स्वतंत्र निदेशक नियुक्त किए

• उनकी नियुक्ति पांच साल की अवधि के लिए होगी और शेयरधारकों की मंजूरी के अधीन होगी।
• बैंकिंग उद्योग में और प्रतिभूतियों और बीमा विनियमन के क्षेत्र में नायर के पास लगभग 40 वर्षों का अनुभव है।

9. सुभाष चंद्र खुंटिया नया आईआरडीएआई अध्यक्ष है

 

पूर्व आईएएस अधिकारी सुभाष चंद्र खुंटिया भारत के बीमा नियामक और विकास प्राधिकरण (आईआरडीएआई) के नए अध्यक्ष हैं।

• मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति (एसीसी) ने बीमा नियामक के अध्यक्ष के पद पर श्री खुंटिया की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी।
• उनकी नियुक्ति तीन साल या 65 साल की उम्र तक होगी, जो भी जल्द से जल्द हो।
• वह टीएस विजयन की जगह लेंगे।

1. India- South Africa Business Summit Concludes in Johannesburg

Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, attended India- South Africa business summit from April 29-30,2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

• The visit began with a series of bilateral meetings: he met Dr. Rob Davies, Minister of Trade and Industry of South Africa and ministers from Swaziland, Botswana and Lesotho.
• The Minister highlighted the historical relations between India and these countries and pledged to take the economic partnership forward.
• The Minister also met members of India-South Africa CEOs forum who expressed confidence in the Government of India’s efforts to strengthen India-Africa relations and pledged their support in furthering these relations.

2. India into world's top five defence spenders

India has joined the U.S. and China as one of the world’s five biggest military spenders, reflecting geopolitical tensions as well as the country’s reliance on imported weapons and sprawling personnel costs.

• India’s  defense spending rose by 5.5 percent to $63.9 billion in 2017 and has now passed France, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute said in a report
• According to the arms watchdog, the five top military spenders in 2017 were the US, China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and India.

3. 14 of world's 15 most polluted cities in India

The WHO global air pollution database reveals that India has 14 out of the 15 most polluted cities in the world in terms of PM 2.5 concentrations, with the worst being Kanpur.

• Kanpur topped the 2016 list with a PM 2.5 concentration of 173 micrograms per cubic metre, followed by Faridabad, Varanasi and Gaya.
• 14 out of top 15 cities are Indian. Ali Subah Al Salem (Kuwait) ranked 15th.

4. Cabinet approves Doubling of Investment Limit for Senior Citizens PMVVY

The Union Cabinet chaired by chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for extending the investment limit from Rs 7.5 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs as well as extension of time limits for subscription from 4thMay 2018 to 31stMarch, 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandan Yojana (PMVVY) as part of Government's commitment for financial inclusion and social security.

• Further, as a boost to the Social Security initiatives for senior citizens, the investment limit of Rs 7.5 lakh per family in the existing scheme is enhanced to Rs 15 lakh per senior citizen in the modified PMVVY, thereby providing a larger social security cover to the Senior citizens.  
• It will enable upto Rs.10000 Pension per month for Senior Citizens.
• The PMVVY is being implemented through Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to provide social security during old age and protect elderly persons aged 60 years and above against a future fall in their interest income due to uncertain market conditions.
• The scheme provides an assured pension based on a guaranteed rate of return of 8% per annum for ten years, with an option to opt for pension on a monthly / quarterly / half yearly and annual basis.
• The differential return, i.e. the difference between the return generated by LIC and the assured return of 8% per annum would be borne by Government of India as subsidy on an annual basis.

5. Biggest Airport, after Mumbai, to be developed in Mopa, Goa

A joint team of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Commerce Logistics Department will visit Goa on 7th-8thMay 2018 to facilitate the development of cargo hubs at the new airport to be constructed at Mopa in Goa.

• The four coastal states in the western part of the country, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Goa, will benefit greatly from the biggest airport, after Mumbai,to be constructed in Mopa.

6. PMSSY approved beyond 12th Five Year Plan

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for continuation of  Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) beyond 12th Five Year Plan for a period 2017-18 to 2019-20 with a financial outlay of Rs. 14,832 crores.

• Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for his constant support, Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare said that the Government is consciously working towards improving health infrastructure as well as health manpower in the country.

7. Cabinet approves continuation of Umbrella Scheme ‘Green Revolution

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for the Umbrella Scheme, "Green Revolution – Krishonnati Yojana" in agriculture sector beyond 12th Five Year Plan for the period from 2017-18 to 2019-20 with the Central Share of Rs. 33,269.976 crore.      

• The Umbrella scheme comprises of 11 Schemes/Missions.
• These schemes look to develop the agriculture and allied sector in a holistic and scientific manner to increase the income of farmers by enhancing production, productivity andbetter returns on produce.
• The Schemes will be continued with an expenditure of Rs.33,269.976 crore for three financial years, i.e., 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

8. Radhakrishnan Nair appointed ICICI Bank independent director

 

Former IRDAI member Radhakrishnan Nair has been appointed to ICICI Bank’s board as an Additional (Independent) Director.

• His appointment will be for a period of five years and is subject to shareholders’ approval.
• Nair has around 40 years of experience in the banking industry and in the field of securities and insurance regulation.

9. Subhash Chandra Khuntia is new IRDAI chairman

 

Former IAS officer Subhash Chandra Khuntia is the new chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

• The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Mr.Khuntia to the post of chairperson of the insurance regulator.
• His appointment will be for a period of three years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is the earliest.
• He will replace TS Vijayan.
