1. नेपाल ने 31 अगस्त को बिम्सटेक शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी की

नेपाल काठमांडू में 31 अगस्त से शुरू होने वाले मल्टी-सेक्टरल टेक्निकल एंड इकोनॉमिक कोऑपरेशन (बिम्सटेक) शिखर सम्मेलन के लिए दो दिवसीय खाड़ी बंगाल पहल आयोजित करने के लिए तैयार है।

• नेपाल, मेजबान राष्ट्र और बिम्सटेक की वर्तमान अध्यक्ष ने सीमा पार अपराध, आतंकवाद, प्राकृतिक आपदाओं, अतिवाद, और हथियार, गोला बारूद और दवाओं के अवैध व्यापार पर चर्चा करने की तैयारी की है।

2. केप टाउन में ब्रिक्स शिक्षा मंत्रियों की 6 वीं बैठक

केंद्रीय मानव संसाधन राज्य मंत्री, सत्य पाल सिंह ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका के केप टाउन में ब्रिक्स शिक्षा मंत्रियों की 6 वीं बैठक में भाग लिया।

• ब्रिक्स की इस बैठक में, भारत को 'शिक्षा में डिजिटाइजेशन' का मुख्य विषय आवंटित किया गया था।
• उन्होंने स्वैम, स्वम प्रभा, राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल पुस्तकालय, राष्ट्रीय शैक्षणिक जमा, ई-यंत्र, वर्चुअल लैब्स, ऑपरेशन डिजिटल बोर्ड, ई-पथशाला, दीक्ष और भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस) जैसी भारत की पहलों के बारे में सभी को अवगत कराया।

3. जल संसाधन मंत्रालय ने "जल बचाओ, वीडियो बनो, पुरुसुकर पाओ" प्रतियोगिता शुरू की

जल संरक्षण और जल प्रबंधन के महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर भारत के लोगों से जुड़ने के प्रयास में, जल संसाधन मंत्रालय, नदी विकास और गंगा कायाकल्प ने "जल बचाओ, वीडियो बनो, पुरुसुकर पाओ" नामक एक वीडियो प्रतियोगिता शुरू की है।

• प्रतियोगिता चलाने के लिए मंत्रालय भारत सरकार के माईगोव पोर्टल के साथ हाथ मिला है।
• पाक्षिक प्रतियोगिता जो MyGov के माध्यम से शुरू किया गया था, 4 तक चलेगा वेंनवंबर 2018।
• प्रत्येक पखवाड़े में तीन विजेताओं का चयन किया जाएगा।

4. प्रधान मंत्री नई दिल्ली में नए एएसआई मुख्यालय का उद्घाटन करेंगे

प्रधान मंत्री, श्री नरेंद्र मोदी 12 जुलाई, 2018 को नई दिल्ली में तिलक मार्ग पर भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (एएसआई) की नई मुख्यालय इमारत का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

• नई मुख्यालय इमारत ऊर्जा कुशल प्रकाश व्यवस्था और वर्षा जल संचयन सहित अत्याधुनिक सुविधाओं से लैस है।
• इसमें लगभग 1.5 लाख किताबें और पत्रिकाओं के संग्रह के साथ एक केंद्रीय पुरातात्विक पुस्तकालय शामिल होगा।

5. भूटान से मीडिया अधिकारियों के लिए 5 दिन क्षमता विकास कार्यक्रम

भूटान के निर्वाचन आयोग से विशेष अनुरोध पर, भारत अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लोकतंत्र और चुनाव प्रबंधन संस्थान (IIIDEM) भूटान के मीडिया अधिकारियों के लिए 9-13 जुलाई, 2018 से नई दिल्ली में 5 दिवसीय क्षमता विकास कार्यक्रम आयोजित कर रहा है।  

• प्रतिभागियों में भूटान के चुनाव प्रबंधन निकाय से मीडिया पत्रकार और मीडिया अधिकारी शामिल हैं।
• इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य चुनावों में मीडिया पर इंटरैक्टिव चर्चाएं आयोजित करना है।
• माननीय मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त श्री ओपी रावत ने कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन किया।

6. स्टार्टअप इंडिया यात्रा का मध्य प्रदेश लेग 16 जुलाई, 2018 को शुरू होता है

स्टार्टअप इंडिया यात्रा वैन स्टार्टअप इंडिया और मध्य प्रदेश स्टार्टअप पॉलिसी के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए राजधानी भोपाल से शुरू होने वाले मध्यप्रदेश के 10 शहरों की यात्रा करेगा।

• बोर्ड, विशेषज्ञों के साथ वाहन, उद्यमी प्रतिभा को एक विचार को पिचने और उगाए जाने के लिए अवसर प्रदान करेगा, इसे विचार से उद्यम तक स्केल कर देगा।
• वैन से लगभग 25 कॉलेजों की यात्रा होने की उम्मीद है, और सभी स्थलों में एक दिवसीय बूट शिविर आयोजित किए जाएंगे।
• TheYatra पर जुलाई 16 से शुरू हो जाएगा वें , 2018, 30 दिन के अंतराल पर 10 जिलों और 15 संस्थानों को कवर।

7. विशेषज्ञों के तीसरे अंतर सरकारी समूह (आईजीई) का पूर्ण सत्र

केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री श्री राम विलास पासवान ने भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व किया और यूएनसीटीएडी द्वारा आयोजित तीसरे अंतर सरकारी समूह (आईजीई) के उद्घाटन / पूर्ण सत्र में भाषण दिया । 

• श्री पासवान ने विशेष रूप से उपभोक्ता संरक्षण के क्षेत्र में भारत सरकार की प्रमुख उपलब्धियों पर प्रकाश डाला।
• उपभोक्ता मुद्दे पर जिनेवा में दो दिवसीय सम्मेलन 10 को संपन्न हुआ वीं जुलाई, 2018 के।

8. एशिया में ग्रीन हाउस गैस इन्वेंट्री पर 16 वीं कार्यशाला

नई दिल्ली में एशिया (डब्लूजीआईआई 16) में ग्रीनहाउस गैस इन्वेंट्रीज़ पर 

• उन्होंने कहा कि भारत 2022 तक नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा उत्पादन की स्थापित क्षमता की 175 जीडब्ल्यू हासिल करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।
• उन्होंने 2020 तक वाहन उत्सर्जन के लिए भारत स्टेज IV (यूरो IV) से भारत स्टेज VI (यूरो VI) मानकों तक पहुंचने के फैसले को भी संदर्भित किया।  

9. भारत ने फ्रांस की दुनिया की 6 वीं सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था बनने के लिए मजबूर किया

2017 के लिए अद्यतन विश्व बैंक के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, अब भारत की छठी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था बन गई है, जो पिछले फ्रांस को धक्का दे रही है।

• एएफपी ने बताया कि सूची में फ्रांस को सातवें स्थान पर रखा गया है।
• फ्रांस के लिए $ 2.582 ट्रिलियन की तुलना में, 2017 के अंत में भारत का सकल घरेलू उत्पाद 2.597 ट्रिलियन डॉलर था।
• अमेरिका, चीन, जापान, जर्मनी और ब्रिटेन के बाद दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था बनी हुई है।

1. Nepal to host BIMSTEC Summit on Aug 31

Nepal is set to hold a two-day Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit, starting from August 31, in Kathmandu.

• Nepal, the host nation and the current chair of the BIMSTEC, has made preparations to discuss over the trans-border crimes, terrorism, natural calamities, extremism, and illegal trade of arms, ammunition and drugs.

2. 6th meeting of BRICS Education Ministers at Cape Town

Union Minister of State for HRD, Dr Satya Pal Singh attended the 6th meeting of BRICS Education Ministers at Cape Town, South Africa.

• In this meeting of BRICS, India was allotted the key theme of ‘Digitization in Education’.
• He apprised to all present about the India’s initiatives like SWAYAM, SWAYAM PRABHA, National Digital Library, National Academic Depository, E-Yantra, Virtual Labs, Operation Digital Board, E- Pathshala, Diksha, and Geographic information System (GIS).

3. Ministry of Water Resources Launches “Jal Bachao, Video Banao, Puruskar Pao” Contest

In an attempt to engage with the people of India on the important issues of water conservation and water management, the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has launched a video contest titled “Jal Bachao, Video Banao, Puruskar Pao”.

• The Ministry has joined hands with MyGov portal of the Government of India to run the contest.
• The fortnightly contest which was launched through MyGov, will last till 4thNovember 2018.
• Three winners will be chosen every fortnight.

4. PM to inaugurate new ASI Headquarters in New Delhi

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will inaugurate the new Headquarters building of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), at Tilak Marg in New Delhi on July 12, 2018.

• The new Headquarters building has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including energy efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting.
• It shall include a Central Archaeological Library with a collection of about 1.5 lakh books and journals.

5. 5 – day Capacity Development programme for Media Officials from Bhutan

On a special request from Election Commission of Bhutan, India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) is organizing a 5 -day Capacity Development programme for Media Officials from Bhutan from July 9-13, 2018 at New Delhi.  

• The participants include media journalists and media officials from Election Management Body of Bhutan.
• The program is aimed to hold interactive discussionson media in elections.
• Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri O. P. Rawat inaugurated the programme.

6. Madhya Pradesh Leg of Startup India Yatra begins on July 16th, 2018

The Startup India Yatra van will travel to 10 cities of Madhya Pradesh, starting from the capital Bhopal, to spread awareness about Startup India and Madhya Pradesh Startup Policy.

• The vehicle, with experts on board, will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurial talents to pitch an idea and get incubated, scaling it from idea to enterprise.
• The van is expected to travel to nearly 25 colleges, and one-day boot camps will be conducted in all the destinations.
• TheYatra will begin on July 16th, 2018, covering 10 districts and 15 institutions over a span of 30 days.
• Startup India Yatraaims to scout grass root level entrepreneurs in the smaller towns of India, providing a platform for budding entrepreneurs to realize their Startup dream.

7. Plenary session of the 3rd Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE)

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan led the Indian Delegation and delivered a speech at the opening/plenary session of the 3rd Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) convened by the UNCTAD. 

• Shri Paswan highlighted the key achievements of the Government of India, especially in the area of Consumer Protection.
• The two day conference in Geneva on Consumer Issues concluded on 10th of July, 2018.

8. 16th Workshop On Greenhouse Gas Inventories in Asia

Inaugurating the 16th Workshop on Greenhouse Gas Inventories in Asia (WGIA16) in New Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan stressed that while efforts of experts are necessary, there is also a need for an active involvement of people in the fight against climate change.

• He said that India is committed to achieve 175 GW of installed capacity of renewable energy generation by 2022.
• He also referred to the decision to leapfrog from Bharat Stage IV (Euro IV) to Bharat Stage VI (Euro VI) standards for vehicular emissions by 2020.  

9. India pips France to become world’s 6th largest economy

ndia has now become world’s sixth-largest economy, pushing past France, according to the updated World Bank figures for 2017.

• France has been pushed to seventh spot in the list, AFP reported.
• When compared with $2.582 trillion for France, India’s GDP stood at $2.597 trillion at 2017 end.
• The US remains the world’s largest economy followed by China, Japan, Germany and Britain.

खानों और खनिजों पर चौथा राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन 13 जुलाई, 2018 को इंदौर के लिए ब्लॉक दिखाने के लिए आयोजित किया जाएगा, जिसे वित्त वर्ष 2018-19 में संभावित निवेशकों को राज्यों द्वारा नीलामी की जाएगी।

भारत-कोरिया प्रौद्योगिकी विनिमय केंद्र का उद्घाटन राज्य मंत्री (आई / सी) एमएसएमई गिरिराज सिंह और एसएमई मंत्री और कोरिया गणराज्य के स्टार्ट-अप, नई दिल्ली में हांग जोंग-हाक द्वारा किया गया था।

• इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए, गिरिराज सिंह ने कहा कि प्रौद्योगिकी विनिमय केंद्र का उद्देश्य भारत और कोरिया के सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों के लिए एक मंच तैयार करना है जहां उन्हें नवीनतम तकनीकों की पहचान और विनिमय करने, प्रबंधन विशेषज्ञता, उत्पाद विकास को साझा करने में सहायता की जा सकती है। और उत्पाद विकास के लिए प्रौद्योगिकी अनुप्रयोगों।
• एमएसएमई मंत्री ने आगे कहा कि प्रौद्योगिकी केंद्र अंतरिक्ष, सौर ऊर्जा, नैनो प्रौद्योगिकियों और कुछ अन्य आगामी प्रौद्योगिकियों में विश्वसनीय गठजोड़ बनाने की दिशा में भी काम करेगा।

8. माइक्रोसॉफ्ट ने 9,500 छात्रों को डिजिटल प्रशिक्षण के लिए राज सरकार के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए

माइक्रोसॉफ्ट ने राजस्थान सरकार के साथ एक वर्ष में 9,500 कॉलेज छात्रों को मुफ्त डिजिटल प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

• राज्य में कॉलेज के छात्रों की डिजिटल लर्निंग और क्षमता निर्माण में वृद्धि के लिए पहल की गई थी।

• उन्होंने जी श्रीराम से पदभार संभाला है, जिन्होंने 1 जुलाई, 2018 को अपने कार्यकाल को पूरा करने के बाद कार्यालय से सेवानिवृत्त हो गए हैं।

World Population day is an annual event, observed on July 11 every year, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues.

• The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989.
• World Population Day 2018 observes the theme, "Family planning is a human right."

2. India climbs 3 spots to 57th in global innovation rankings

The Global Innovation Index (GII) has ranked India as the 57thmost innovative nation in the world.

• The country has improved its ranking from 60th position last year.
• India has been improving steadily since it was ranked 81st in 2015.
• Switzerland ranked for 8th straight year.

3. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu becomes first Chairman of Rajya Sabha to sign an MOU

Rajya Sabha has, for the first time in 76 years since it came into being, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a foreign counterpart for promoting inter-parliamentary dialogue.

• Shri Venkaiah Naidu, has, in the process, become the first Chairman of Rajya Sabha to sign such an agreement when he inked an MOU with the visiting President of the Senate of the Republic of Rwanda, Mr. Bernard Makuza.
• The MOU with 6 articles of cooperation seeks to promote Inter-Parliamentary dialogue, Capacity building of parliamentary staff, Organisation of conferences, forums, seminars, staff attachment programmes, workshops and exchanges, Collaboration in mutual interest in regional and international multilateral parliamentary bodies in furtherance of bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries.

4. 4th National Conclave on Mines and Minerals

The 4th National Conclave on Mines & Minerals will be held on 13th July, 2018 at Indorefor showcasing blocks which will be auctioned by the states in FY 2018-19 to the potential investors.

• Union Minister for Mines Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that it will carry forward the efforts of the Government for strengthening the mineral auction regime as well as help in expediting auctions and bring in greater participation from the stakeholders.

5. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana Top Rankers in Ease of Doing Business

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, released the final rankings of States in Ease of Doing Business in New Delhi.

• The top rankers are Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana. Jharkhand and Gujarat stood fourth and fifth respectively.
• DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the World Bank conducted an annual reform exercise for all States and UTs under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP).
• The aim of this exercise is to improve delivery of various Central Government regulatory functions and services in an efficient, effective and transparent manner.
• Rajasthan has slipped by one spot in the ease of doing business rankings to 9th position.

6. Shri Ananthkumar inaugurates CIPET: Centre for Skilling & Technical Support (CSTS)

Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Ananthkumar inaugurated the CIPET:  Centre for Skilling & Technical Support (CSTS) at ITI Building and laid the foundation stone of new Central Institute of Plastics Engineering &Technology (CIPET) Building at Doiwala, Dehradun.

• Other dignitaries who graced the event as guests of honour included Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, and Member of Parliament, Haridwar, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
• CIPET: CSTS, Dehradun is the 32nd CIPET centre in the country.

7. India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre Inaugurated

The India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre was Inaugurated by the Minister of State (I/C) MSME Giriraj Singh and Minister of SMEs and Start-ups of Republic of Korea, Hong Jong- hak in New Delhi.

• Speaking on this occasion,Giriraj Singh said that the purpose of the Technology Exchange Centre is to create a platform for micro, small and medium enterprises of India and Korea where they can be assisted to identify and exchange latest technologies, share management expertise, product development and technology applications for product development.
• The MSME Minister further said that the Technology Centre will also work towards building reliable alliances in Space, Solar Energy, Nano technologies and some other upcoming technologies.
• He said that a number of Korean organizations have showed keen interest to initiate technology transfers in MSME sectors between the two countries and this Centre will provide them reliable partners for effecting   business alliances.

8. Microsoft signs MoU with Raj govt for digital training to 9,500 students

Microsoft has signed an MoU with the Rajasthan government to provide free digital training to 9,500 college students in one year.

• The initiative was taken for the enhancement of digital learning and capacity building of college students in the state.
• The state few months back had signed MoU with IGNOU for nearly two dozen courses on skill development.

9. T Latha appointed new MD & CEO of Dhanlaxmi Bank

Dhanlaxmi Bank Limited has appointed T Latha as the Managing Director & CEO.

• She has taken over from G Sreeram, who has retired from the office on July 1, 2018, on completion of his tenure.
• Her appointment will be for a period of three years w.e.f July 2, 2018.

10. Vice President Releases the book ‘Two Classical Plays from India’

 

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that there is a need to revive Theatre and make it a prominent form of education and entertainment.

• He was addressing the gathering after releasing the book ‘Two Classical Plays from India’, an English translation of Hindi plays written by well-known playwright Shri D.P. Sinha.
