1. Andhra CM inaugurates International Yachting Festival

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu flagged off the International Yachting Festival in Visakhapatnam.

• The festival, which is being held from March 29 to April 1, was inaugurated in the presence of IT minister Nara Lokesh, HRD minister Ganta Srinivasarao and other local MLAs.
• This International Yachting Festival is the first step in developing sea tourism in Visakhapatnam.

2. MP to raise retirement age for govt employees to 62 years

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced raising the retirement age of state government employees to 62 years from the current 60 years.

• He however did not disclose details of this decision. There are about five lakh regular government employees in the state.
• The state government had made a provision for reservation for SC/ST employees in promotion, which was set aside by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

3. Madhya Pradesh’s Kadaknath chicken gets Geographical Indication tag

Kadaknath, a chicken breed whose black meat is in demand in Madhya Pradesh has got the coveted Geographical Indications (GI) tag label.

• The protein-rich meat of Kadaknath, chicks and eggs are sold at a much higher rate than other varieties of chicken.
• Chennai-based GI Registry accepted the application of Gramik Vikas Trust, Jhabua, which was filed in 2012.

4. Shri Prakash Javadekar launches the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2018

The Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar launched in New Delhi the world’s largest event is its kind- the two day grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2018 (Software Edition) being held at 28 nodal centres across the country simultaneously.  

• Addressing the participating students at New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM in New Delhi), Shri Javadekar said that more than 1 lakh students of more than 1200 colleges are participating in this second edition of the Smart India Hackathon 2018, which is a record.
• He said that more than 8000 students at 28 different centres will work on their final innovations for the next 36 hours.
• These students will codify their innovations in a group of six, on which they are working hard since last 4 months.

5. Fino Payments Bank to deploy mPoS devices across 10,000 banking points

Fino Payments Bank has said it plans to deploy multi-utility Android-based mPoS (mobile point-of-sale) devices across 10,000 banking points in the country in a phased manner.

• The mPoS is a portable device with an in-built fingerprint scanner, card reader, camera, printer and a tablet, the payments bank said.
• The device will gradually replace the combination of devices currently used to facilitate fingerprint authentication and digital transactions.

6. Rivigo ties up with IDFC, YES Bank, for truck loans

  

Rivigo, a homegrown logistics start-up that owns as well as acts as an aggregator of trucks, is tying up with YES Bank, IDFC and 10 other financial institutions to make cheaper funds available to truck owners and operators on its platform.

• The funds will be available at an interest rate of 1-2 per cent per month, lower than the usual industry standard of 2-3 per cent.
• Instead of waiting for funds from their customers, they can get the money from the banks for a duration of 30-60 days.

7. US diplomat DiCarlo becomes first female UN political chief

Long-serving American diplomat Rosemary DiCarlo was appointed to become the first woman to head UN political affairs, one of the most high-profile positions at the world body.

• DiCarlo will replace Jeffrey Feltman, another American who held the post of under-secretary-general for political affairs since 2012, overseeing UN efforts to end conflicts worldwide.

8. Chandra Bhushan appointed Deputy EC

Senior bureaucrat Chandra Bhushan Kumar has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner as part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle by the government.

• Bhushan, a 1995 batch IAS officer of union territories cadre, has been appointed to the post for five years, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

9. Vineet Joshi appointed as first Director General of National Testing Agency

The government has appointed senior bureaucrat Vineet Joshi as the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which will conduct the entrance examinations for higher educational institutions organised by the CBSE, AICTE and other bodies.

• Joshi, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Manipur cadre, was appointed to the post for five years, an order issued by the department of personnel and training said.
• Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had, in his budget speech of 2017-18, announced the setting up of the NTA "as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation to conduct all entrance examinations for higher educational institutions".

2. सरकारी कर्मचारियों के लिए सेवानिवृत्ति की उम्र बढ़ाने के लिए सांसद 62 साल

मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने राज्य सरकार के कर्मचारियों की सेवानिवृत्ति की उम्र 60 साल से बढ़ाकर 62 साल करने की घोषणा की है।

• हालांकि उन्होंने इस फैसले का विवरण नहीं बताया राज्य में करीब पांच लाख नियमित सरकारी कर्मचारी हैं।
• राज्य सरकार ने पदोन्नति में अनुसूचित जाति / अनुसूचित जनजाति के कर्मचारियों के आरक्षण के लिए प्रावधान किया था, जिसे मध्य प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय द्वारा अलग रखा गया था।

3. मध्य प्रदेश के कडकनाथ चिकन को भौगोलिक संकेतक टैग मिलता है

कडकनाथ, एक चिकन नस्ल जिसका काला मांस मध्य प्रदेश में मांग में है उसे भौगोलिक संकेतों (जीआई) टैग लेबल प्राप्त हुआ है।

• चिकन की अन्य किस्मों की तुलना में कडकनाथ, चिकी और अंडे का प्रोटीन युक्त मांस बहुत ज्यादा दर पर बेचा जाता है।
• चेन्नई स्थित जीआई रजिस्ट्री ने ग्रामिक विकास ट्रस्ट, झाबुआ का आवेदन स्वीकार कर लिया, जिसे 2012 में दायर किया गया था।

4. Shri Prakash Javadekar launches the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2018

मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री श्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने नई दिल्ली में शुभारंभ किया। विश्व की सबसे बड़ी घटना यह है कि स्मार्ट इंडिया हैकथॉन 2018 (सॉफ्टवेयर संस्करण) का दो दिवसीय ग्रैंड फाइनल देश भर में 28 नोडल केंद्रों पर आयोजित किया जा रहा है।  

• नई दिल्ली इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मैनेजमेंट (नई दिल्ली में एनडीआईएम) में भाग लेने वाले छात्रों को संबोधित करते हुए श्री जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि स्मार्ट इंडिया हैकथॉन 2018 के इस दूसरे संस्करण में 1200 से अधिक कॉलेजों में 1 लाख से अधिक छात्र भाग ले रहे हैं, जो एक रिकॉर्ड है।
• उन्होंने कहा कि 28 विभिन्न केन्द्रों में 8000 से अधिक छात्र अगले 36 घंटों के लिए अपने अंतिम नवाचार पर काम करेंगे।
• ये छात्र छह के एक समूह में अपने नवाचार को संहिता देंगे, जिस पर वे पिछले 4 महीनों से कड़ी मेहनत कर रहे हैं।

5. फिनो पेमेंट्स बैंक 10,000 बैंकिंग पॉइंट्स में एमओपीओ उपकरणों की तैनाती कर रहा है

फाइनो पेमेंट्स बैंक ने कहा है कि वह चरणबद्ध तरीके से देश में 10,000 बैंकिंग बिंदुओं पर बहु-उपयोगिता एंड्रॉइड-आधारित एमपीओएस (मोबाइल पॉइंट ऑफ सेल) उपकरणों को तैनात करने की योजना बना रही है।

• एमओपीस एक पोर्टेबल डिवाइस है जिसमें एक फिंगरप्रिंट स्कैनर, कार्ड रीडर, कैमरा, प्रिंटर और एक टैबलेट शामिल है, भुगतान बैंक ने कहा।
• डिवाइस धीरे-धीरे फ़िंगरप्रिंट प्रमाणीकरण और डिजिटल लेनदेन को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए उपयोग किए जाने वाले उपकरणों के संयोजन को धीरे-धीरे बदल देगा।

6. ट्रक ऋण के लिए आईडीएफसी, वाईस बैंक के साथ रिवागो संबंध

8. चंद्र भूषण ने उप चुनाव आयोग नियुक्त किया

सरकार द्वारा एक प्रमुख नौकरशाही फेरबदल के तहत वरिष्ठ नौकरशाह चंद्र भूषण कुमार को उप चुनाव आयुक्त नियुक्त किया गया है।

• कार्मिक और प्रशिक्षण विभाग (डीओपीटी) ने जारी एक आदेश में कहा है कि 1 99 5 बैच के केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के आईएएस अधिकारी भूषण को पांच साल के लिए पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।

9। विनीत जोशी को राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी के पहले महानिदेशक नियुक्त किया गया

सरकार ने वरिष्ठ नौकरशाह विनीत जोशी को राष्ट्रीय परीक्षण एजेंसी (एनटीए) के महानिदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया है, जो सीबीएसई, एआईसीटीई और अन्य निकायों द्वारा आयोजित उच्च शैक्षिक संस्थानों के लिए प्रवेश परीक्षा आयोजित करेगा।

• जोशी, मणिपुर के कैडर के 1992 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी, को पांच साल के लिए पद पर नियुक्त किया गया था, कर्मियों और प्रशिक्षण विभाग द्वारा जारी एक आदेश ने कहा।
• वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने 2017-18 के अपने बजट भाषण में उच्च शिक्षा संस्थानों के लिए सभी प्रवेश परीक्षा आयोजित करने के लिए एक स्वायत्त और आत्मनिर्भर प्रीमियर टेस्टिंग संगठन के रूप में एनटीए की स्थापना की घोषणा की थी।

1. Haryana’s Mewat is India’s most backward district

The NITI Aayog has released a preliminary ranking for the 101 most backward districts of India that have signed up for the Narendra Modi government’s ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ programme.

• Haryana’s Mewat is the lowest-ranked among these backwards districts, while Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram is the best-performing district of the 101.
• Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon and Maharashtra’s Osmanabad lie second and third on the top of the table.

2. GSLV Successfully Launches GSAT-6A Satellite

India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F08) successfully launched GSAT-6A Satellite into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) on March 29, 2018.

• Launch of GSLV was its twelfth and took place from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota, the spaceport of India.
• This is the fifth consecutive success achieved by GSLV carrying indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage.

3. RBI imposes Rs 59 cr penalty on ICICI Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 58.9 crore on ICICI Bank Ltd for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI.

• The central bank, in a statement, said this penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, taking into account failure of the bank to adhere to its directions/guidelines.

4. Indu Bhushan appointed CEO of 'Ayushman Bharat' mission

Indu Bhushan has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Centre's ambitious Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission (ABNHPM).

• Bhushan, the Director General of East Asia Department, Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines, has been appointed to the post for a period of two years.
• The Union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the launch of the Ayushman Bharat mission recently.

5. Abiye Ahmed is new Ethiopia Prime Minister

Ethiopia’s ruling coalition has voted in Abiye Ahmed as new prime minister following the resignation of Hailemariam Desalegn last month.

• The 180-member council of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) chose Abiye to succeed Hailemariam as the chairperson of the coalition, meaning he automatically becomes premier.
• Abiye won over 60 percent of all votes in the council.

6. SC Appoints Justice Jawad Rahim as Acting Chairperson of NGT

The Supreme Court has appointed Justice Jawad Rahim, judicial member of National Green Tribunal (NGT), as the acting chairperson of the green panel.

• A bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud said that the new acting chairperson will discharge his duties until a regular appointment is made and will take part in selection process of other members of the NGT.

7. Andhra Pradesh appoints shuttler Srikanth as Deputy Collector

Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has been appointed as a Deputy Collector by the Andhra Pradesh government.

• Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu handed over the appointment letter to him in Amravati in the presence of former All-England champion and celebrated badminton coach Pullela Gopichand.
• The Chief Minister also congratulated Srikanth for recently receiving Padma Shri award.

8. Egypt's Sisi re-elected with 92% vote

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been re-elected for a second term with 92 percent of the vote.

• Sisi, who ousted Egypt's first freely elected president Mohamed Morsi in 2013, won his first term in 2014 with 96.9 percent of the vote.

9. J.C. Daniel Award for Sreekumaran Thampi

Lyricist and director Sreekumaran Thampi has been selected for the J.C. Daniel Award, the Kerala government’s highest honour for lifetime contribution to Malayalam cinema.

• Culture Minister A.K. Balan said that the award, comprising Rs 5 lakh and a citation, would be presented to Thampi at the Kerala State Film Award.
• Thampi made his debut in 1966 with Kattumallika and has written over 1,000-odd melodies.

भारत के जीओसिंक्रोनस सैटेलाइट लॉन्च व्हेकल (जीएसएलवी-एफ 08) ने जीएसएटी -6 ए सैटेलाइट को 2 9 मार्च, 2018 को जीओसिंक्रोनसस ट्रांसफर ऑर्बिट (जीटीओ) में सफलतापूर्वक शुरू किया।

• जीएसएलवी का शुभारंभ बारहवीं था और सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र (एसडीएससी) के शार, श्रीहरिकोटा, भारत के अंतरिक्ष यान में दूसरी लॉन्च पैड से हुआ था।
• जीएसएलवी द्वारा स्वदेशी तौर पर विकसित क्रायोजेनिक ऊपरी स्टेज को ले जाने वाली यह लगातार पांचवी सफलता है।

3. आईसीआईसीआई बैंक पर आरबीआई ने 59 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक द्वारा जारी दिशानिर्देशों का पालन न करने के लिए आईसीआईसीआई बैंक लिमिटेड पर 58.9 करोड़ रुपये का मौद्रिक दंड लगाया है।

• केंद्रीय बैंक ने एक बयान में कहा है कि बैंकिंग विनियमन अधिनियम, 1 9 4 9 के प्रावधानों के तहत भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक में निहित शक्तियों के इस्तेमाल में दंड लगाया गया है, जिससे बैंक अपने निर्देशों / दिशानिर्देशों का पालन करने में विफल हो गया है।

4. Indu Bhushan appointed CEO of 'Ayushman Bharat' mission

इंडू भूषण को केंद्र की महत्वाकांक्षी आयुष्मान भारत राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य संरक्षण मिशन (एबीएनएचपीएम) के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

• पूर्व एशिया विभाग के महानिदेशक भूषण, मनीला, फिलीपींस में एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) को दो साल की अवधि के लिए पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।
• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने हाल ही में आयुषमान भारत मिशन के शुभारंभ को मंजूरी दी है।

5. अबी अहमद नई इथियोपिया के प्रधान मंत्री हैं

इथियोपिया के सत्तारूढ़ गठबंधन ने पिछले महीने हाइलेमरियाम देसलेगन के इस्तीफे के बाद अबी अहमद के रूप में नए प्रधानमन्त्री को वोट दिया है।

• इथियोपियाई पीपल्स रिवॉल्यूशनरी डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (ईपीआरडीएफ) की 180 सदस्यीय परिषद ने अबिए को गठबंधन के अध्यक्ष के रूप में हाइलमरीम में सफल होने का फैसला किया, जिसका अर्थ है कि वह स्वतः प्रधान हो जाता है।
• अबी ने परिषद में सभी मतों के 60 प्रतिशत से अधिक जीत हासिल की।

6. एससी ने न्यायमूर्ति जवाद रूम को एनजीटी के कार्यवाहक अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल (एनजीटी) के न्यायिक सदस्य न्यायमूर्ति जवाद रूम को ग्रीन पैनल के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया है।

• मुख्य न्यायाधीश दीपक मिश्रा और न्यायमूर्ति ए.एम. खानविलकर और डीवाय चंद्रचुद की पीठ ने कहा कि नई अभिनय अध्यक्ष नियमित नियुक्ति के लिए अपने कर्तव्यों का निर्वहन करेंगे और एनजीटी के अन्य सदस्यों की चयन प्रक्रिया में हिस्सा लेंगे।

7. आंध्र प्रदेश ने श्रीकांत को उप कलेक्टर के तौर पर नियुक्त किया है

आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा ऐस भारतीय शटलर किदंबी श्रीकांत को उप कलेक्टर के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

• मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने अमरावती में पूर्व ऑल-इंग्लैंड चैंपियन की उपस्थिति में उनके लिए नियुक्ति पत्र सौंप दिया और बैडमिंटन के कोच पुलेला गोपीचंद का जश्न मनाया।
• मुख्यमंत्री ने हाल ही में पद्म श्री पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने के लिए श्रीकांत को बधाई दी।

8. मिस्र के सीसी 92% मत से निर्वाचित हुए

मिस्री राष्ट्रपति अब्दुल फतह अल-सिसी को दूसरे चरण के लिए 9 2 प्रतिशत वोट के साथ फिर से निर्वाचित किया गया है।

• 2013 में मिस्र के पहले स्वतंत्र रूप से निर्वाचित राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद मोरसी को निकाल देने वाले सीसी ने 2014 में अपना पहला कार्यकाल 9.9 प्रतिशत वोट के साथ जीता था।

9. श्रीकुमार थंबी के लिए जे.सी. डैनियल अवार्ड

गीतकार और निर्देशक श्रीकुमारन थंपी को जेसी डैनियल अवार्ड के लिए चुना गया है, मलयालम सिनेमा में जीवनभर योगदान के लिए केरल सरकार का सर्वोच्च सम्मान।

• संस्कृति मंत्री ए। के। बलन ने कहा कि 5 लाख रुपये और प्रशस्ति पत्र का पुरस्कार, केरल स्टेट फिल्म अवार्ड्स में थाम्पी को प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा।
