1. भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग सुगम्‍य चुनावों पर राष्‍ट्रीय परामर्श का आयोजन करेगा

भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग (ईसीआई) 03 जुलाई, 2018 से नई दिल्‍ली में ‘सुगम्य चुनावों पर एक राष्ट्रीय परामर्श’ पर एक दो दिवसीय कार्यक्रम का आयोजन करेगा।

• इसका उद्घाटन चुनाव आयुक्‍त श्री सुनील अरोड़ा एवं चुनाव आयुक्‍त श्री अशोक लवासा की उपस्थिति में मुख्‍य चुनाव आयुक्‍त श्री ओ.पी. रावत द्वारा किया जाएगा।
• यह कार्यक्रम ‘दिव्‍यांगजनों’ (पीडब्‍ल्‍यूडी) पर विशेष फोकस के साथ ‘किसी भी मतदाता को वंचित नहीं किया जाएगा’ की ईसीआई की अनवरत कोशिशों का एक हिस्‍सा है।
• उद्घाटन सत्र के दौरान भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग की प्रणालीगत मतदाता शिक्षा एवं निर्वाचक सहभागिता (एसवीईईपी) पर एक समर्पित पोर्टल लांच किया जाएगा।

2. “समुद्री मत्स्य पालन-भारत में मैरिकल्चर” विषय पर परामर्शदात्री समिति की बैठक

केन्द्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय ने देश की नई “राष्ट्रीय समुद्री मात्स्यिकी नीति, 2017” को अधिसूचित कर दिया है, जो देश में समुद्री मात्स्यिकी के विकास को अगले 10 वर्षों तक दिशा प्रदान करेगी।

• कृषि मंत्री ने कृषि मंत्रालय की परामर्शदात्री समिति की “समुद्री मत्स्य पालन - भारत में मैरिकल्चर” विषय पर 02 जुलाई, 2018 को रामेश्वरम, तमिलनाडु में आयोजित अंतर-सत्र बैठक में यह बात कही।
• कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय द्वारा तमिलनाडु के रामेश्वरम में आयोजित इस बैठक में “समुद्री मत्स्य पालन - भारत में मैरिकल्चर” से सम्बंधित विभिन्न मुद्दों पर चिंतन और विचार–विमर्श किया गया।

3. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री ने 17 वें विश्व पुलिस और फायर गेम्स-2017 के पदक विजेताओं कोसम्मानित किया

केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने 7-16 अगस्त, 2017 को अमेरिका के लॉस एंजिल्स, कैलिफ़ोर्निया, में आयोजित 17 वें विश्व पुलिस और फायर गेम्स के पदक विजेताओं को सम्मानित किया।

• वे अखिल भारतीय पुलिस खेल नियंत्रण बोर्ड (एआईपीएससीबी) द्वारा आयोजित समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि थे।
• 101 सदस्यीय भारतीय पुलिस दल, 17 वें विश्व पुलिस और फायर गेम्स से रिकॉर्ड 321 पदकों के साथ वापस आया।
• पुलिस दल ने सात स्पर्धाओं में भाग लिया और 151 स्वर्ण, 99 रजत और 71 कांस्य पदक जीते।
• यह एक दुर्लभ अवसर है जहां टीम के प्रत्येक सदस्य ने व्यक्तिगत या टीम स्पर्धाओं में पदक जीता है जिसमें उसने भाग लिया था।

4. सिविल सेवकों और अधिकारियों के लिए 44वां एडवांस प्रोफेशनल प्रोग्राम

केन्द्रीय पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय, कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत व पेंशन, परमाणु  ऊर्जा और अंतरिक्ष राज्य मंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्र ने कहा कि संयुक्त सचिव स्तर की सीधी भर्ती (लैटेरल इंट्री) से शासन समृद्ध होगा।

• वे सिविल सेवकों व अधिकारियों के लिए आयोजित 44वें एडवांस प्रोफेशनल प्रोग्राम इन पब्लिक एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन (एपीपीपीए) के उद्घाटन भाषण में बोल रहे थे।

5. पीडब्ल्यूडी के लिए कौशल विकास पर राष्ट्रीय कार्यशाला

दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग (डीईपीडब्ल्यूडी), सामाजिक न्याय और सशक्तिकरण मंत्रालय 3 जुलाई को "दिव्यांगजन कौशल विकास पर राष्ट्रीय कार्यशाला" ("दिव्यंगजन)" आयोजित कर रहा है।

• प्रशिक्षण भागीदारों से लेकर पॉलिसी निर्माताओं और साथ ही नियोक्ताओं तक के सभी हितधारकों को मंच प्रदान करने के लिए कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
• कार्यशाला दिव्यांगजन (पीडब्ल्यूडी) के लिए कौशल विकास में शामिल सभी मुद्दों पर कार्य करेगी।

6. राज्य के लिए मानदंडों को अपग्रेड करने के लिए सरकार ने पैनल गठित किया

सरकार ने उप-राष्ट्रीय खातों के लिए 13 सदस्यीय समिति की स्थापना की है जिसका नेतृत्व आईआईएम अहमदाबाद के एक सेवानिवृत्त प्रोफेसर रविंद्र एच ढोलकिया करेंगे।

• इसका लक्ष्य राज्यों और जिलों के स्तर पर आर्थिक आंकड़ों की गणना के लिए राष्ट्रीय खातों या सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की गणना के लिए आधार वर्ष को संशोधित करने के मानदंडों को अपग्रेड करना है।
• सांख्यिकी और कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय (एमओएसपीआई) चालू वर्ष से सकल घरेलू उत्पाद और आईआईपी संख्याओं की गणना के लिए आधार वर्ष 2011-12 से 2017-18 में बदलेगा।

7. कलाकार अंजोली एला मेनन कालिदास पुरस्कार से सम्मानित

उल्लेखनीय कलाकार अंजोली एला मेनन, 78 को मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने दृश्य कलाओं के लिए राष्ट्रीय कालिदास सम्मान दिया है।

• मीडिया के विभिन्न अर्थों में उनके सार्थक चित्रों के माध्यम से महिलाओं की पहचान और भावना के बारे में उनकी अंतर्दृष्टिपूर्ण और संवेदनशील चित्रण की मान्यता में सम्मानित किया गया।
• कलाकार ए रामचंद्रन को भी कालिदास पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

8. पीएमएसएमए के तहत सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन के लिए हिमाचल को राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार

हिमाचल प्रदेश को देश में प्रधान मंत्री सुरक्षा मात्रत्व अभियान (पीएमएसएमए) के तहत अपने प्रदर्शन के लिए राज्यों में पहले स्थान पर चुना गया है।

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जगत प्रकाश नड्डा ने राज्य के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव, स्वास्थ्य, बीके अग्रवाल को को पुरस्कार प्रदान किया।

9. द्रविड़, पोंटिंग, टेलर आईसीसी हॉल ऑफ फेम में शामिल

भारत के पूर्व कप्तान राहुल द्रविड़ और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई रिकी पोंटिंग को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में उनकी शानदार उपलब्धियों के लिए आईसीसी क्रिकेट हॉल ऑफ फेम में शामिल किया गया है।

1. Columbia formally joins NATO

One year after reaching partnership deal through a peace agreement with South America, Columbia has has formally joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

• The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance between 29 North American and European countries based on the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.

2. Prime Minister lays foundation stone for Patratu Super Thermal Power Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the 2400MW first phase of NTPC's Patratu Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand.

• The project is a 74: 26 Joint Venture between Government of Jharkhand (GoJ) and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (PVUN), a subsidiary company of NTPC establishing a total capacity expansion of 4,000MW.
• Envisioning the brighter future for India's 19th State, NTPC’s PVUNL is set to develop the project in two phases: 2,400 MW (3x800MW) in Phase-I and 1,600 MW (2x800 MW) in Phase-II.

3. Ravi Shankar Prasad to inaugurates cloud enabled Data Centre at Bhubaneswar

National Informatics Centre has set up a new state-of-the-art cloud enabled National Data Centre at Bhubaneswar.

• The data center was inaugurated by Union Minister of Electronics & IT and Law & Justice, Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad in Bhubaneswar.
• It will offer 24*7 operations with secure hosting for e-Governance applications of the Government and its departments.

4. Manipur Becomes First State in Northeast to Have Solar Toilet

Manipur has become the first state in the Northeast and the third state in India to have solar toilets.

• The solar panel, connected to the toilets, absorb the heat to generate power and are also efficient to transform waste material.

5. HDFC Bank launches digital loans against mutual funds

In a first in India, HDFC Bank has launched its Digital Loan against Mutual Funds (LAMF).

• Customers can now pledge mutual fund assets online and get overdraft limit set in their account in under 3 minutes.
• Customers can now avail of this product through the HDFC Bank website in 3 easy steps.
• The bank has collaborated with CAMS, a transfer agent for mutual funds to create a seamless customer experience.

6. Yes Bank empaneled as ‘Settlement Bank’ by National Stock Exchange

Yes Bank, India’s fourth largest private sector bank, has received approval from National Stock Exchange (NSE), India’s largest stock exchange to be empaneled as ‘Settlement Bank’ for National Securities Clearing Corporation Limited (NSCCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NSE.

• Yes Bank will provide comprehensive settlement and clearing services suitable to the members by leveraging its technology platform.
• The services will include electronic funds transfer facilities and 'anywhere' banking.
• Yes Bank is already an empaneled ‘Clearing Bank’ for the BSE, NCDEX and MCX.

7. NITI Aayog signs on Sushant Singh Rajput to promote the WEP

NITI Aayog announced the signing of a Statement of Intent (SoI) with noted media personality and entrepreneur Shri Sushant Singh Rajput, to collaborate and support  NITI’s flagship initiative, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP).

• The agreement was signed in the presence of Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog by Ms Anna Roy, Adviser (Industry), NITI Aayog and Shri Sushant Singh Rajput.
• He would also be supporting NITI Aayog in promoting the Women Transforming India Awards 2018, the theme for which is ‘Women and Entrepreneurship’ and whose nominations are currently ongoing. 

8. TRIFED elects new Board of Directors

The General Body meeting of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED) was held on 25th May 2018 in which the 11th Board of Directors was reconstituted and the Office Bearers were elected unanimously.

• Shri Ramesh Chand Meena was elected as the Chairperson and Smt. Pratibha Brahma was elected as the Vice Chairperson of TRIFED.

1. Russia unveils world's first floating nuclear power station

Russia has unveiled the world's first floating nuclear power station in the port of the city of Murmansk, where it will be loaded with nuclear fuel before heading to eastern Siberia.

• Constructed by the state nuclear power firm Rosatom, the 144 by 30 metre holds two reactors with two 35 megawatt nuclear reactors that are similar to those used to power icebreaker ships.
• It will be primarily used to power oil rigs as Russia pushes further north into the Arctic to drill for oil and gas and needs electricity in far-flung locations.

2. NABARD sanctions Solar street lighting system in Arunachal

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned LED Solar Street Lighting system for Arunachal Pradesh under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund with a total grant of Rs 87.83 lakh.

• The project would be implemented in the four districts of the state Tirap, Longding, Namsai and Tawang.
• Chief Minister Pema Khandu launched the scheme in presence of NABARD Chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala.

3. Railways to use AI to control air circulation in Manipur tunnel

For the first time, the railways will use artifical intelligence to control air circulation, signages and even supervision and maintenance work in the 10.28 km-long tunnel in Imphal as part of its 110 km railway line from Jiribam to Manipur's capital city.

• While the national transporter is already using this technique to detect flaws or problems in the signalling system, this is the first time that such a technology will be used in a tunnel in the country.
• The system will control air circulation in the system, along with other aspects.
• It will alert the passenger in case of fire and help us in quick evacuation in case of any issue.

4. Gujarat Governor to hold additional charge of MP

Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli was given the additional charge of Madhya Pradesh as the incumbent Governor, Anandiben Patel is on leave.

• This was informed by the Rashtrapati Bhavan through a communique.
• Anandiben, became the Governor of Madhya Pradesh in January 2018, replacing Kohli, who even at that time held the same position.

5. Rajinder Singh named Hockey India president

Rajinder Singh was named president of Hockey India (HI), following Mariamma Koshy's resignation from the post.

• Singh, who is the Senior Vice President of Hockey India, has take charge as President.
• He was earlier the Treasurer of HI and currently serves as the Treasurer of Hockey Jammu & Kashmir.

6. West Bengal Government to honour Asha Bhosle

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle will be honoured by the West Bengal government on May 21.

• Asha Bhosle has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over six decades and has sung numerous songs.
• Asha thanked West Bengal Government for bestowing their highest civilian award on her.

7. NMDC bags S&P Platts Global Metals Award in CSR category

Iron ore mining major NMDC Ltd has bagged the S&P Global Platts Global Metals Award 2018 in the corporate social responsibility category.

• At an event held at London Grosvenor Square Marriott Hotel in the UK, N. Baijendra Kumar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, and Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel), NMDC Ltd, received the coveted award.
• The 12 shortlisted nominations were of renowned companies from across the world. This is the first time since inception of the awards that an Indian company has bagged an award in this category.

8. S Korea beat India to win Asian Champions Trophy

South Korea pipped India 1-0 to win the fifth Women’s Asian Champions Trophy at the Sunrise Stadium in Donghae city.

• South Korea, thus, won the title for the third time after 2010 and 2011.
• India finished runners-up for the second time after having lost in the final to Japan in 2013.

9. Nadal edges Zverev to win Italian Open

Rafa Nadal come from behind in the deciding set and beat defending champion Alexander Zverev 6-1 1-6 6-3 in the Italian Open final.

• The win gave the Spaniard his 56th title on clay and he will reclaim the world number one ranking from Roger Federer.

1. ग्वाटेमाला अमेरिका के बाद यरूशलेम में दूतावास खोलता है

ग्वाटेमाला ने आधिकारिक तौर पर तेल अवीव से जेरुसल तक अपने दूतावास को स्थानांतरित कर दिया, अमेरिका ने यरूशलेम में अपने दूतावास का उद्घाटन करने के बाद ऐसा करने वाला दूसरा देश बन गया।

• उद्घाटन में, जिसमें प्रधान मंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने भाग लिया था, ग्वाटेमाला के राष्ट्रपति जिमी मोरालेस ने कहा कि उनका देश इजरायल को "प्यार, शांति और बंधुता" का संदेश ला रहा है। 
• ग्वाटेमाला संयुक्त राष्ट्र में यरूशलेम दूतावास के मुद्दे पर ट्रम्प प्रशासन और इज़राइल के साथ मतदान करने के लिए सात देशों में से एक था।

2. विश्व एड्स टीकाकरण दिवस: 18 मई

विश्व एड्स टीकाकरण दिवस, जिसे एचआईवी टीकाकरण जागरूकता दिवस भी कहा जाता है, 18 मई को सालाना मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इसे पहली बार 18 मई, 1 99 8 को मनाया जाता था।

• दिन एचआईवी के खिलाफ लड़ने के लिए एक टीका के लिए निरंतर आवश्यकता के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए चिह्नित किया जाता है, जो वायरस एड्स का कारण बनता है।

3. मोदी ने कश्मीर में जलविद्युत परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया

ग्रीन गुड डीड्स, पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री, डॉ हर्षवर्धन, पर्यावरण की रक्षा और देश में अच्छी जिंदगी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए शुरू किए गए सामाजिक आंदोलन को वैश्विक समुदाय द्वारा स्वीकृति मिली है।

• दक्षिण अफ्रीका के डरबन में पर्यावरण पर चल रहे ब्रिक्स मंत्रिस्तरीय, ब्राजील में अगले मंत्रिस्तरीय में अपने आधिकारिक एजेंडे में "ग्रीन गुड डील" और रूस में एक और बैठक में शामिल होने पर सहमत हुए हैं।

5. 2018-19 में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था 7.6% बढ़ने का अनुमान है: संयुक्त राष्ट्र

संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था वित्तीय वर्ष 2018-19 में 7.6 प्रतिशत बढ़ने का अनुमान है, जो दुनिया की सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था में शेष है।

• 2018 के मध्य तक संयुक्त राष्ट्र विश्व आर्थिक स्थिति और संभावनाएं (डब्ल्यूईएसपी) ने कहा कि भारत में सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि क्रमशः 2017-18 और 2018-19 के वित्तीय वर्ष में 7.5 और 7.6 प्रतिशत तक पहुंचने की उम्मीद है।
• वित्तीय वर्ष 2017 में पंजीकृत भारत में 6.7 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि से यह काफी सुधार हुआ है।

6. कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ लेने के लिए कुमारस्वामी

मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ लेने के सिर्फ दो दिन बाद, कर्नाटक के बीजेपी नेता बीएस येदियुरप्पा ने घर के तल पर आत्मविश्वास के महत्वपूर्ण वोट से इस्तीफा दे दिया।

8. प्रसिद्ध तमिल लेखक बलकुमारन पास हो गए

लेखक बलकुमारन, जिनके काम तमिल में गंभीर और लोकप्रिय लेखन के बीच एक लिंक थे, की मृत्यु हो गई। वह 71 वर्ष का था।

• उनके उपन्यास थायमुमानवन का एक टेली-सीरियल में अनुवाद किया गया था और उन्होंने फिल्म इंदु नमामा अalu को निर्देशित किया, जिसमें मुख्य भूमिका में भाग्यराज अभिनीत थे।
